It’s actually official! Get ready for tomorrow, Monday, January 26th, because I just received an email confirming what we’ve all been waiting for – ROSS is beginning its 49 Cent sale event! Here’s what you need to know.

For many years Ross Dress For Less has had an unadvertised, 49 cents clearance sale happen annually in January. This is the first year that I’ve ever seen them publicly announced the sale.

How it works is that clearanced items with prices ending in “49” are marked down all the way to only $0.49 cents. This often happens as a rolled out process every Monday, since there’s likely a lot of clearance products to go through.

The best part? No category is off limits!! Surprisingly, you can find these 49 cents deals in every department, from clothes and accessories, cosmetics and beauty, to toys, housewares and home decor. Be sure to check everything for hidden markdowns!

Pro-tip: At Ross, clearance items must be manually retagged with new UPC stickers so prices aren’t always current. If you find an item with a price ending in .49, take it to the register and ask for a price check/update to see if it’s part of the 49-cent event.

Be forewarned, this sale has been very popular on social media over the last couple years and lines tend to be VERY long when the buzz starts. I’m anticipating it will be busier due to Ross publicly acknowledging the sale this year. If you’re planning on going, be prepared.
